Some good takeaways from @johnnunemaker.com’s Self-Made is a Myth appearance.

1. I should probably up the priority on automating imports to Pika.

2. I, of time-tracking descent, am going to try time-tracking again (gasp!). I’m hoping for positive feelings around what got done.

I finished the podcast Dead Eyes. It was pretty good! Now I need a new podcast.

An absolutely huge advancement in the treatment of Huntington’s disease.

While the national anthem was sung at this soccer game, church bells rang very slowly (every 10 seconds or so). Very foreboding.

Made a sad error yesterday and didn’t hear the delivery person ringing the bell with our new iPhone. Guess we’ll wait until Monday. To be fair, yesterday was a wild day of household logistics.

I believe Patreon’s unsubscribe feature is broken and I’m about to start marking as spam. (Though, admittedly, my sample size is one Patreon member.)

Codex has been the worst AI agent experience I’ve had. It’s results have been…okay. But it’s integration with the system has been very lacking. There’s probably ways around it, but…🤷‍♂️.

I’ve been trying JetBrains’s Junie as an AI coding agent. Read good things, but turned out slow and expensive and meh in terms of results. Going to give Codex a try next. If that’s underwhelming, I’ll head back to augmentcode.

I’m on an iPhone 14 Pro and my better half is on the 13 Pro. Our youngest’s 13 Mini battery is toast. I think we’ll move the 13 Pro to the youngest and replace the Mini with a 17 (non-Pro). Four-year cycle!

Going to a movie tonight and I’m not really a horror fan. Do I force myself to Weapons or go for Caught Stealing?

My head needs some clearing, so taking a break from CDN/S3 troubleshooting and primarily working on some smaller Pika things this week.

Getting CloudFront/S3 to be responsive and consistently hitting its cache may be the death of me. Wishing I could go back in time and start with Cloudflare, but is the grass really greener?

I’d like to try Monarch, but I just assume it will be bought and run into the ground at some point. And so I don’t.
